About Ridgeburn Press

Ridgeburn Press exists to show what rapid development at this scale would do to Arrow Junction and the surrounding district — the traffic, the wastewater, the nitrogen, the night sky, the landscape — by putting the real documents and the real figures in one place and letting readers reach their own conclusion.

We take a side. The proposal would place 1,200 dwellings at a rural junction, generate roughly 3,000 vehicle movements a day across SH6, Gibbston Valley Road and the Crown Range Road approach, and produce in the order of one million litres of wastewater every day, carrying an annual nitrogen load recorded in the application material as 2.8 tonnes. We think those consequences are serious, and we say so. What we do not do is overstate them.

What we do not have yet

Being explicit about this is part of the standard. The day and night simulations, the interactive wastewater visualisation and the interactive title map are described on this site but are not yet built; when they ship, they will publish their assumptions before their pictures. No expert has been instructed, so no expert is named. Several document references still carry [Source to be added] because the citation has not been attached, and several questions carry [Awaiting client evidence] because the material has been requested and not yet supplied. Those labels are deliberate, and they are meant to shrink.
