Ridgeburn Press publishes the documents, the figures and the unanswered questions about the proposed 1,200-dwelling development at Arrow Junction, and lets readers reach their own conclusion. Doing that to a standard that survives scrutiny costs money — and the money is not for a campaign. It is for evidence.
A proposal of this scale is answered with expert evidence or it is not answered at all. The figures on the record so far — around 3,000 daily vehicle movements, roughly 1,000,000 litres of wastewater a day, 2.8 tonnes of nitrogen a year, phosphorus not yet quantified at all — are modelled estimates supplied with the application. Testing them takes people qualified to test them, instructed independently and paid properly.
What the fund buys
Thirteen expert disciplines are engaged by this application. The Expert Evidence Centre lists all thirteen and sets out what each one has to answer. This fund pays for their instruction, their site work, their reports, and the planning and legal work needed to put those reports in front of the people who decide.
The ladder below is deliberately ordered. The cheapest milestones buy the reviews that tell us which questions are worth the expensive ones; the legal response is last, because a legal response with nothing under it is an opinion.
What the fund does not buy
- It does not buy a conclusion. An expert paid from this fund is instructed to find what is there. What they find is published either way.
- It does not fund a party, a candidate or an election campaign. This is a planning application, and the fund is scoped to it.
- It does not fund adverse claims about named people or companies. No amount of money changes that rule — see how we classify evidence.
Why there is no running total on this page
A raised-to-date figure is the easiest number on a site like this to get wrong, and the easiest for anyone opposing us to disprove. One unreconciled total would discredit every sourced figure standing next to it. So a total is published only once it has been reconciled against the account holding it; until then the first milestone below reads [Figure to be confirmed by the campaign], which is the honest answer. Traffic and transport
Independent modelling of the roughly 3,000 daily vehicle movements, their distribution onto SH6, Gibbston Valley Road and the Crown Range Road approach, peak-hour behaviour and intersection capacity.
Wastewater engineering
Roughly 1,000,000 litres a day, followed end to end: collection, treatment, the Morven Hill disposal capacity relied on, and the land application rates that follow from it.
Hydrogeology and groundwater
Where the 2.8 tonnes of nitrogen a year actually goes, what reaches groundwater, and the phosphorus load the application has not quantified at all.
Ecology and landscape
Ecological values on and around the site, and a landscape and visual assessment of what a settlement of 1,200 dwellings does to this setting.
Lighting and dark skies
The cumulative sky glow of thousands of individually compliant light sources — the question an as-built lighting standard does not answer, and the one currently under investigation.
Planning and legal response
Turning the expert reports into a formal response against the statutory tests, and resourcing representation where submissions and hearings allow it.
